Although by no means my whole collection of model buses, here are a couple of things I have to hand and can show you right now.
This slightly messy thing started life as a normal EFE Aldershot and District bus, but last year I repainted it to represent one of the Darts that was operated on my local route by Dunn Motor Traction in competition with Nottingham City's double deckers. It looks a bit dirty here as it's spent the past few months on the top of my wardrobe out of the way and has collected a bit of dust over time!
I know lots of people use spray paint and decals/transfers to make models that look like they're from the factory, but I've always been quite happy working with brushes and an inkjet printer. It might look a bit scruffy but so long as it's not a complete dog's dinner I'm happy.
And here we have an unholy mess of 'work in progress' and 'what am I going to do with this?' There's various bits of dismembered EFE Olympian strewn around ready for an upcoming conversion project as well as the PECO kit unbuilt because I don't have a plan for it yet. I haven't found an East Lancs thing I can convert it into yet so I'm confused - all I seem to be doing lately is converting stuff into East Lancs things.
The Lynx has been kicking around for nigh on four years because I shelved my original plan for it (a BYD electric of all things) - there is a new plan but it's on the furthest back of back burners and will be for some time. I did convert one Lynx to a BYD but never felt like doing any more because it wasn't East Lancs.
The Solo started off well but the glazing unit got broken so I'm wondering whether to press on anyway or wait until I get a new Solo and swap the glazing out. The only thing is I can rarely find Solo models at reasonable prices so it might be another six years before I get a replacement!
The Wright Axcess in the middle was being shortened at the back, but then it fell to bits. Now it's a bit too flexible to cut - I'll either figure something out or I won't. I do at least have a spare Axcess you can see which is blue. I got two at first because I was going to make a Wright Fusion and then in the way I typically do I changed my mind. Even if I can't salvage the Mainline liveried Axcess I'll still have its chassis which I'll find a use for (probably something East Lancs).
Out of shot is the Optare MetroRider that refuses to be finished - converted from the Britbus MCW version. I've been attempting to paint two stripes on it for a couple of years now but every time I do it something messes up and I have to start over! My next attack will involve Tamiya tape...
So yeah, that's the Model Bus Disaster Zone.
