This product is now released and can be discussed at Other - [Official DLC] OMSI London

* Updated 9th December 2017.*
In order to ensure the London WIP thread is solely focused on the Work in Progress developments of London. It's been decided that it will be best to create a new thread for any questions that you may have regarding the features to be included in the add-on.

Prior to asking your questions, please ensure that this has not already been showcased in the WIP topic. Please also ensure that you READ this thread before commenting

Please Note: This thread is not the place to ask for the add-on's release date as I will disclose that once it's time to make it publicly known.

FAQ:
What buses are included in the DLC package?
- B5LH/Gemini 3
  • Citybus 200
  • Citybus 400
  • New Routemaster

What routes are included in the DLC package? (updated)

Do the buses come with an onboard iBus system?
Yes, it's currently being re-scripted to allow it to have a few more functions. These functions will be disclosed at a later date as it's not our top priority.

Can I become a beta tester for one of the vehicles/map?
No, we are not looking for any beta testers. We appreciate many of you are excited, but we also do expect many of you to respect our decision. All testers were selected by myself and my development team. This was done on a basis of people who are in the community who we can already trust, and not done on the basis of requests.

How much will add-on London cost?
Add-On London is currently expected to be priced at £24.99/27.95 Euros for the download version dependent on where you live, and £28-£30 for the boxed version depending on which site you purchase the add-on from.

Are there any plans for future vehicles post-London release?
Yes, there are plans for a number of vehicles which will be confirmed once development has started on those. The only confirmed vehicle is the Enviro400City, as discussed above.

Will the buses use the same rollband system as the current freeware London B9TL?
Road-hog123 has spent excessive time working on a brand new rollband script to replicate the Mckenna Brother's Powerblinds unit. All buses included in the add-on will feature its own unique powerblind set and does not replicate the example seen in the Volvo B9TL by AD156

@jowilliams15 not in a rude way but why would people asking about the add on have anything to Rhys delaying the add on? I have been watching the thread for a long time and some people who are new simple ask when the add on is coming or about trailer and they get hate... like there just asking a question and I don’t see how it would delay the release, yes Rhys may have to take time to look at the question however the whole point of the thread is to ask questions so don’t give these people hate...

So from what I learnt from when I was working at Lambeth, training to be a building surveyor, is that 1 storey = 3-4m (most of the time...there are exceptions in places like Central London, where stores will generally have a larger storeys). Usually I count the overall number of storeys that each building may have and go from there. I'll then ensure that the phototextures used for the building match up to the mesh. I ought to create a short little tutorial explaining my process for buildings. They are probably the most simple thing you can do in Blender

I see, I havent touched OMSI editor or Blender in ages, thanks though that is and would be very helpful, one thing is capturing pavements without your feet in the way. And photographing buildings without looking weird, I remember reading about the team behind The Getaway getting kicked out of Soho for photographing buildings lol

Not sure what all the commotion is about. I check back here every now and then to see the progress. I saw the mention of a summer trailer by Rhys, and summer has passed and couldn’t see anything about the trailer. I looked back earlier in the thread to see if my question had been asked and answered before; but couldn’t see it.

I don’t think i’m hindering any progress; I’m only asking what happened to the trailer.

If people are that desperate to drive a bus around London, go get a PCV license and a job with a London based company, it'd be quicker.

I reckon that by the end of January, we still won't see a trailer........I'll bet £50 of my own money on it and that's a serious offer.

It's not the same thing, as you very well know.

What about the under-16 or 18 year old kids that live somewhere else in the world, like Iceland, Alaska, Canada, Idaho, India, Russia or even Africa?
You seriously propose that these people should move to London, actually MOVE to London, and if they're not adults they'd have to move there with their family/guardians, for those kids to get a PCV license and get a new bus driving job, driving for some London-based bus company? Really?

Also, what?!
I'd NEVER bet any of my money on something like that...
If you ever want to see those 50 quid again, my suggestion would be:
Take your offer back. Otherwise your 50 quid are as good as gone...

And I'm being dead serious on this. I really mean everything I say, it's not supposed to be funny; no funny clowning around from me today...

Lol, snapping buildings isn't too bad. I used to get very nervous when I first did it, but it's pretty much like any other photography. I'd also say that places like Central London can often be a lot easier, on the confidence side of things, as there are many tourists around you snapping building/iconic locations as well.

You've clearly missed the whole point of the first part of my post, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously......good grief.

And do you honestly think I'd part with £50 in a silly bet over an Omsi addon.........err no.....not a chance.

Sorry for being 'gullible', but I thought you were being serious, as you said it was a "serious offer".
Why did you even post it if the whole thing wasn't meant to be taken seriously in the first place? ???

Anyways, sorry for the whole off-topic, let's get on-topic again please... :)

Ah it's the suburbs, parts of London we don't often see in games, for inspiration I did manage to snap a couple but need a better quality camera so after xmas I think i'll use the free time to travel about a bit!

I wouldn't say Aerosoft charge any more excessive prices than many other publishers. Especially with London and what you'll be getting, it'll be really good value (especially compared to other addons that are already out there on Steam with less variety and quality.)
