sigh this is my.... well idk what to call this contraption as you can see it is clearly unfinished but if anyone knows well/ has the patience or mental capacity to help me colour this it would be appreciated :p
photo I took in December 2013 isn't great, but was the only time I ever recorded an Optare Excel in service with Nottingham City Transport.
The other day I figured out which fleet number it was, so to 'celebrate' in a way, I drew it in-focus and without all the people and clutter.
First time I've done a whole picture instead of just the bus on a plain background.
Rather pleased with the result actually - this is how I have the scene memorised in my mind rather than what the camera recorded!
Here is an edit I made to DLA622 which is a training bus at Arriva London South. (Original photo is mine)
Strangely, it hasn't been repainted to the aqua training livery irl so I decided to give it a new lick of paint and have also removed the rear door. The engineers also found 2 spare wheels which were put on the bus.
Originally this was meant to be a quick thing but it ended up turning into a full-blown drawing and taking me 3 days to finally get it finished. Still, I'm not complaining as I like this bus very much. I want to adapt it to see what this body style would have looked like on other chassis like Volvo B10M and with features like bonded side windows, but for now this is the original in its true-to-life form as a Leyland Atlantean.
