I'm afraid I don't know where you get your information from but London is well known to be one of the largest cities in Europe by population and area. The fact you can see central London from St Albans says nothing as you could say that people on the ISS can see central London.
Is there any advantage to having the rear steering axle behind the powered axle? I notice that most buses and coaches are like that except for an odd few such as the Leyland in the previous post.
