    Buses [LDT] Leyland National Mk1

Can't wait for this. Rode on them many times in my youth. They had all been withdrawn in my area by 1991 and replaced by new Leyland Lynx or 2nd hand MKII Nationals. The O510 was a beast, especially in the early ones. TXJ507K at the Museum of Transport, Manchester is a really loud beast with...

    Buses [LDT] Leyland National Mk1

There are in fact two common roof pods. Firstly initial builds had long pods, while phase 2 models from c1974/5 had a shorter pods. Some MK2s were also fitted with pods depending on operator choice.

    Buses [LDT] Leyland National Mk1

Me too, rode many happy hours on West Riding's MK1's until they were withdrawn in 1991. I can still hear the 0510 engine in my head after all these years. Really looking forward to this as will bring back many memories. The NHL-Ms were really loud! Volume to the max!
