TransBus ALX400 (London Spec) 1.03a

Login to Download
The long wait is over for one of OMSI 2's most anticipated UK buses, the ALX400.

This particular version is based on a circa 2003 TransBus ALX400 / Dennis Trident combination with the following features:

* Full-height body
* Engine and gearbox performance based on spec sheets
* Vinyl style blinds
* Dual door operation
* Working ticket machine and cash tray
* A choice of London liveries
* Repaint templates
* Setvars for modifying your repaint

Thanks to the early donators many repaints, mods and blinds have been made. Check out the rest of the Fellowsfilm Forums for them to download.

I hope you enjoy driving this bus as much as I enjoyed making it. Have at it ;) Be sure to check out the included manual created by the amazing BusSimAddict for more info

A little History:
------------------------

The ALX400 body first entered the UK market in 1996, built originally by Walter Alexander, as one of the UK's first low-floor bus designs.

Alexander was owned at the time by the Mayflower corporation (Which included Dennis), and merged in 1998 with the Henlys Group (Which owned Plaxton) to form TransBus International. In 2004 it went into administration and Plaxton was sold off in a management buy-out. The remainder of the business was purchased by merchant bank Noble Grossart and businessmen David Murray and Brian Souter, which became Alexander Dennis Ltd. In 2007 ADL purchased Plaxton, bringing the original brands back together again.

Though the ALX 400 saw it's biggest success' in London, many examples of it can be seen all over the UK and in a variety of formats such as with the DAF DB250 and Volvo B7TL platforms. Production of the ALX 400 continued until 2006 when it was superseded by the new Enviro 400.

I'm new to OMSI and this is the first add on bus that I've ever installed. Worked great first time. Thanks a lot.
An amazing, amazing product.
I'm enjoying using this bus very much, thanks so much for the work, V3D!
It's a must-have for anyone that's into RHD OMSI 2!
Only problem I have is that once I pull the blind down, I can't get it back up...
But you still deserve 5 stars!! Thanks again!
Nice bus. Nice sounds.
amazing bus , great sounds and textures .. only issue i do have right now is unable to find scunthorpe rollbands
Perfect for Park & Ride duties :)
Is this the best UK bus available for OMSI2 at this time - Yes. Is it perfect - No.

It looks superb and is visually very accurate. However the tuning is suspect (although not terrible), the scripting is incomplete and the sounds are very lacklustre.

From a scripting perspective: no ramp (albeit you can't use them in OMSI anyway), the kneeling and door buttons don't behave like the real thing, the blind changing animation is broken, there's no clock on the ticket machine, no reverse interlock, no "bus stopping" sign illumination. Those are just the ones I can think off immediately.
Great bus and everything bus there is no time on the bus and no ibus. Also as this is London spec I expected a 4-speed voith. It also says the bus is a 4-speed voith but in game it's a 3-speed?
As a South London Bus Driver myself who drives these 'TA's' as we nickname them , the authentic look and design is spot on. so impressed.

I did find a few little issues that I thought you should know about.Might be just my PC this is occurring but it will be good to share regardless

1. As an AI, the bus starts moving as the rear doors are about to close

2. Also in AI mode, if you select to follow the ALX400 while the Ai is still controlling the bus on its route and timetable, the bus all of a sudden stops and wont move off until you have selected another bus to follow.

maybe an AI mod.bus file or a update for us AI fans perhaps. Beacuse I sometimes like to pretend to be a passenger on a moving busso it sucks that I cant do that with this bus :(

Apart from those two things, this is by far the best Left hand Omsi bus I have seen made so far. The detail is amazing. You and your team should be so proud of a job well done.
great bus love it
Stunning work as ever V3D!

It's great that this project didn't get canceled during it's stages of development, and it has come a long way!

I really enjoy driving this bus!
