Welcome to Lincolnshire!
Lincolnshire is a flat, mostly rural county, in the East Midlands of the UK. Based in and around Gainsborough, a small market town - and surprisingly once the capital of the England (Google it if you don't believe me!) - located in rural Lincolnshire, some 15 miles north of the county capital - Lincoln. Public transport in these areas is sparse, compared to other, more densely populated towns and cities in the UK. Making profitable and regular public transport here is a real challenge!

The main operator here is Stagecoach East Midlands - who operate 2 town routes, the 1 and 2, which (pre-covid) each operated every hour, as well as a handful of more rural services to Retford and Doncaster - as well as "Interconnect 100", between Lincoln and Scunthorpe - All of which operate hourly at best. In OMSI, the network has been somewhat enhanced to make things more caried and busier, whilst trying to keep that rural vibe. Lincolnshire (Formally Gainsborough) - builds on the existing map, by adding the complete service 95 between Gainsborough and Retford (in Nottinghamshire).

I design my maps to be as light as possible, and so some details have been excluded to ensure it runs smoothly for everyone. My focus with map building is always to re-create the operational side of public transport, rather than recreating an exact copy of a town, so there are numerous things that are different in the real places to this map - Some intentional, some because of the limitations of OMSI. In order to get the most from this map, please read the enclosed documentation.

I hope this map brings you some enjoyment. Map-making is one of my hobbies and I will always release my maps for free to the community to enjoy. If you do wish to make a donation to help support my efforts in creating add-ons for OMSI or just to buy me a coffee/pint to say thanks, any donations will be gratefully received at Mr Mooses Paypal

Enjoy!

I am still quite a novice, however, this map along with the recommended downloads works great. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback, the 590 is meant to be a challenging run - so not surprised you arrived a bit late!

Great map , love the variety of routes and places that you can drive to . I was wondering if there could be an update on some longer layover and possible breaks ? i know when you drive the 100 there is a 5 min gap at lincoln and scunthorpe

The map has now became impossible to drive on as my bus hits this invisible wall and no longer can keep anyone on my bus!

It sounds like you have collisions on. Id strongly suggest turning these off, then you shouldn't have any issues going forwards.

Excellent update, since I have updated none of the blinds work on any of buses can you think what could cause that? Thanks

Not sure - make sure you are selecting the LincolnshireV2 HOF, rather than the old Lincolnshire HOF from version 1.

A great map. A good variety of shorter town services and longer distance rural ones. Always performs well with good FPS and is a good challenge. Especially the newly introduced Route 95.

It has been great seeing how this route has developed over time since the original Gainsborough map. Thanks for the great work!

Fantastic map as usual, 95 is a brilliant addition.

Could a possible 591 be on the cards, Possibly Redford to QEHS ? . Keep up the good work Mr Moose

Thanks for the feedback, glad your enjoying the 95. There is actually a 595 that pretty much does that. I did look at adding it but I couldn't make it work from a timetable point of view. Maybe in the future!

Thanks

this is fantastic. thank you for doing the 95 route. and the park springs to every 15mins.
hopefully the next change will the park springs change of route. on 19th feb
and a rail replacement service that runs from gainsborough lea road to lincoln central. using the 107 route.
and a seperate hof that uses RAIL REPLACEMENT gainsborough lea road or RAIL REPLACEMENT lincoln central. and passengers jump on and off at the stations. or nearest bus stop to the stations.

look forward to your next update to lincolnshire.

thank you mr moose.

Glad your enjoying the extension.

I haven't decided on the town service changes yet - I was going to release V2 with the town services every 30 minutes, but a last minute change saw them back to every 15, when the news on the changes came out. The gainsborough town changes are going to be a total money pit, and when the money runs out I am sure they will revert to something akin to the current arrangement. Corringham Road has been tried before and failed, don't see how it would be any different this time around. The only real benefit is serving Morrisons.

Rail replacement, I have toyed with before, think I accidentally left some helper markers in one version for a possible route. A fictional saxilby station is in the game as well. Not sure how much work would be needed for a Retford - Gainsborough - Saxilby - Lincoln rail replacement - the challenge would be getting a feasible route between Retford and Gainsborough and isn't going around the houses for no reason, but not adding miles of extra scenery either.

Still remains very much my favourite map to drive in OMSI2 and this new version only cements my view. Any chance of seeing some duty cards like we did in the last version? It would be nice to follow on paper the diagrammed daily working for each particular vehicle.

Glad your enjoying the map.

I might add some at some stage. I did look at doing proper driver duties, but couldn't get them to work, although I am sure there is a way to do it, just a big puzzle to put them together! The Scotter one is the complication as it doesn't really work for a Gainsborough based operation (and would probably be Scunthorpe based if real).

Fantastic map that has a great balance of small urban area and rural operations well. A pleasure to drive in my home country of Lincolnshire!
